Application of the REWEC3 technology to the MARINA of ROCCELLA JONICA (ITALY)

The extension of the outer breakwater of the “Porto delle Grazie” of Roccella Jonica will be realized through the implementation of the REWEC3 technology. Roccella Jonica is one of the six municipalities of the Ionian coast of Calabria region already awarded with the Blue Flag, an international recognition given when the policy management is towards environmental sustainability. The project is one of the most innovative engineering projects in the world and will include, at first, the realization of two caissons for a total length of 30m, which can be extended in the future by adding new caissons in order to increase the energy production and make the port totally “green”.
